Dead pixel artifact is an artifact seen in DR system where an detector element fails to recieve a proper signal and appears as a white dot in an X ray image.
A defective pixel on display monitor can also lead to white dot like apperance but it won't be seen on a physical radiograph as it is due to faulty pixel of viewing monitor and not due to receptor.
