The deep palmar arch is the terminal branch of the radial artery, usually forming an anastomosis with the ulnar artery ¹.

The radial artery enters the palm in between the oblique and transverse heads of adductor pollicis muscle, coursing across the palm approximately 1 cm proximal to the superficial palmar arch ¹. Unlike the superficial palmar arch, the deep arch is usually complete, meaning it almost always forms an anastomosis with the ulnar artery ^1-3.

The arch gives rise to three palmar metacarpal arteries, which anastomose with the common palmar digital arteries from the superficial arch around the metacarpal heads ¹.
