Duplicated middle cerebral artery
Updates to Article Attributes
Body
was changed:
The duplicated middle cerebral artery is an anatomical variant in which there are two middle cerebral arteries (MCA) originating from the distal end of the internal carotid artery (ICA).
Supply
The duplicated artery supplies the anterior temporal lobe.
Differential diagnosis
It should not be confused with an accessory middle cerebral artery, where the anomalous duplicated vessel originates from the anterior cerebral artery (ACA).
