The innominate line is the projection of the greater wing of the sphenoid bone seen on frontal radiographs of the skull 1,2.
Its absence (bare orbit sign) is indicative of destruction or dysplasia of the sphenoid bone and is classically associated with neurofibromatosis type 1 3.
