Pulmonary interstitium is a collection of support tissues within the lung that incluces the alveolar epithelium, pulmonary capillary endothelium, basement membrane, perivascular and perilymphatic tissues.
The pulmonary interstitium can be divided into three zones - axial, parenchymal and peripheral 1,2.
