The study reveals significant fluid in flexor retinaculum, encasing flexor tendons and extending distally along the flexor tendon upto distal phalanges. Surrounding subcutaneous and myofascial edema is seen.
Extensor tendons are unremarkable.
Alignment of bones appears normal.
Carpal bones, visualized part of distal radius, ulna, metacarpals and phalanges are unremarkable with no obvious marrow edema.
Case Discussion
Extensive tenosynovitis involving the flexor tendons which is the cause of pain and swelling in this patient.
