Presentation

Known case of cerebral palsy and profound mental retardation, who presented with severe abdominal pain

Patient Data

Age: 17 years
Gender: Male

MDCT reveals a large amount of high density fluid in the peritoneal cavity associated with diffuse thickening of peritoneal lining. There is no evidence of free air or leak of oral contrast material.

The patient underwent surgery and 1 liter of pus was drained out of the peritoneal cavity. The intestines were not perforated.
