Dysembryoplastic neuroepithelial tumor (DNET)

Diagnosis probable

Presentation

Seizures.

Patient Data

Age: 4 years
Gender: Male

There is a well-defined cortical frontal mass of left parasagittal location, isointense to the cortical grey matter peripherally on both T1 and T2 and hypointense on T1 and hyperintense on T2 centrally. A bright peripheral rim with suppression of the central T2 high signal on the FLAIR sequence. No enhancement is seen on postcontrast sequences. No restricted diffusion is seen on DWI/ADC.

Asymmetry of the lateral ventricles is noted.

Case Discussion

The patient's age, clinical presentation, and MRI features suggest probably a dysembryoplastic neuroepithelial tumor (DNET).
