Presentation

Work up for cough.

Patient Data

Age: 60 years
Gender: Female
ct

Postoperative changes are seen due to sternotomy and cardiac prosthetic valve replacement.

A 50×35 mm pleural based mass contains hyperdense serpiginous foreign body is present at the posterolateral aspect of left hemithorax most compatible with gossypiboma.

Several atelectatic bands are noted around the lesion. 

In imaged portions of the upper abdomen, a few hypoattenuating lesions are seen at the liver less than 10 mm most consistent with a cyst.
