Presentation

Shortness of breath.

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Male

Innumerable miliary nodules, otherwise normal.

Innumerable miliary nodules, mildly enlarged mediastinal lymph nodes.

CXR 6 months later

x-ray

Near-complete resolution of miliary nodules following initiation of steroid therapy 6 months prior. 

Case Discussion

On occasion, sarcoidosis may present with a miliary pattern. Histology showed non-caseating granulomas. No tuberculosis bacilli were cultured.
