Airway surrounded by collection in alveolar spaces and loss of volume giving positive air bronchogram sign on right side.

Also noted is right-sided pleural effusion.

Case Discussion

Air bronchogram sign is a non-specific sign seen in benign as well as malignant conditions.

Consolidation or more commonly called as pneumonia is the most common benign cause of this sign.

Bronchoalveolar carcinoma (BAC) is the most common malignant lesion which gives positive air bronchogram sign.
