Presentation

Atrial fibrillation, NOAC administration discontinued.

Patient Data

Age: 80 years
Gender: Female

Status post-sternotomy and CABG. Amplatzer occluder in left atrial appendage (auricle).

Case Discussion

The patient had atrial fibrillation. Administration of novel oral anticoagulant (NOAC) was discontinued due to gastrointestinal bleeding. An Amplatzer AmuletTM left atrial appendage occluder was placed to prevent thromboembolism.
