Diagnostic angiography demonstrates a posterior projecting 8mm basilar tip aneurysm with broad neck, encroaching on both P1 segments but more-so on the left. Tortuous left vertebral artery directly off arch (not shown).
Coil embolization performed using:
- 6F Envoy guide catheter RVA & 5F Envoy LVA
- SL-10 angled microcatheter
- 4 * 7mm Hyperform balloons to each PCA, inflated each coil deposition
- Synchro microguide wire
- Coils
- Hydroframe 7 * 15
- Hydrosoft 5 * 15 & 3 * 8
- Hypersoft 2.5 * 6
Case Discussion
This case illustrates the benefits of balloon remodeling techniques, which allow broad necked aneurysms to be treated endovascularly.
