Breast abscess

Presentation

Non-lactating female. Right breast pain - 1 mth.

Patient Data

Age: about 25 - 30 yrs
Gender: Female
ultrasound

Collection with mobile internal echoes is noted from 12 to 3 o'clock retro and periareolar region. It extends upto mid depth of breast.

Approximate size:

  • axial: 55 mm
  • antero-posterior: 20 mm
  • cranio-caudal: 30 mm.

Rest of the breast shows normal glandular parenchyma.

There is no focal solid mass lesion noted.

There is no ductal dilatation seen in the retroareolar region.

Few reactive nodes are noted in axilla.

Findings of breast abscess in non-lactating mother.

Incision and drainage: abscess.

No tuberculosis.
