Strongly enhancing mass splaying the internal and external carotid arteries on left side.

Case Discussion

The patient went on to have a resection. 

Histology

The tumor shows marked nuclear atypia focally, not an uncommon finding in carotid body tumor, which is of no significance. There is no evidence of vascular or capsular invasion.
