There are extensive multiloculated cystic lesions involving the lung, liver, spleen, and peritoneum. Each cyst contains peripheral small cysts. This is typical for daughter vesicles within the mother cyst. Some of these cysts show rim calcification.
Case Discussion
Hydatid cyst disease is a worldwide zoonosis (parasitic infestation) caused by a tapeworm of the genus Echinococcus.
Disseminated hydatid disease is characterized by multiple cysts of variable size and shape. However, cystic metastasis tops the differential diagnosis.
