Bilateral posterior mediastinal masses associated with medullary expansion of the posterior ribs. The spleen is surgically removed from hypersplenism. The liver is hyperdense due to hemosiderin deposition.
Case Discussion
The patient had thalassemia and as a result of this type of anemia, his bone marrow expands to compensate for the blood loss.
