Presentation
Crush injury to the right thigh approximately 3 months ago. Negative X-rays with ongoing pain and swelling.
Patient Data
There is a right hip and proximal thigh, superficial, extra muscular, soft tissue induration, and a closed degloving injury, with consequent fluid intensity (cystic) dual hemolymphatic collections.
Case Discussion
Features consistent with dual Morel-Lavallée lesions at the typical anatomical location, anterolaterally, overlying the right greater trochanter and proximal thigh.
In this instance, there is both a fusiform, encapsulated, and an oval-shaped lesion.
The patient was referred for a pelvic MRI and hence the whole pelvis axial sequences were suboptimal for review. The study was then replanned to image the right hip and thigh specifically, after finding the rest of the pelvis to be normal.
