Scoliosis of the spine with convexity to the right side and apex at T8. Cobb's angle is measured at 25°.
There is also scoliosis of the lumbar spine with convexity towards the right side. Its apex is at L2/3 level.
Case Discussion
This case demonstrates S-shaped thoracolumbar scoliosis. The measured Cobb's angle at the thoracic curvature is 25°. Scoliosis is defined as lateral spinal curvature with a Cobb angle of 10° or more. Surgical management is usually necessary if Cobb's angle is more than 50°.
