Presentation
2 days of intermittent vomiting followed by a seizure.
Patient Data
Acute bilateral subdural hemorrhage along the falx and the tentorium. Small acute left frontotemporal subdural hemorrhage. Mild left to right midline shift. Foci of subarachnoid hemorrhage. There is a hyperdense appearance of the left sigmoid sinus suggesting thrombosis.
Case Discussion
The child died one day later. Brain pathology revealed subdural and subarachnoid hemorrhages and retinal hemorrhages and confirmed the left sigmoid sinus thrombosis. In addition, a right transverse sinus thrombosis was found. There was pneumonia and the infant was enterovirus+.
