Presentation

Sudden blindness of the right eye after a collision with a hard object.

Patient Data

Age: 10 years
Gender: Male

The lens of the right eye is seen of lower attenuation compared to the normal lens of higher density in the left eye

Case Discussion

  • Traumatic cataract occurs in children and young adult patients mainly after blunt trauma to the eye. 
  • Role of CT scan to diagnose other associated signs of orbital fractures, foreign bodies and globe rupture.
  • This child underwent intraocular lens implantation two months after the trauma.
