Mucoid degeneration of ACL with ganglion cyst

Presentation

Knee pain since 1 year. No history of trauma.

Patient Data

Age: 45 years
Gender: Female

ACL appears thickened and hyperintense with intact fibers giving typical "Celery Stalk " appearance.

A ganglion cyst noted near the proximal attachment of the ACL over femur.

Grade II intrameniscal signal intensity in posterior horn of medial meniscus, anterior horn and root of lateral meniscus.

Case Discussion

It is a common age related degeneration of the ACL. Typical MRI findings are confirmatory of the diagnosis.
