The MRI sequences demonstrate a fusiform enlargement of the Achilles tendon with disruption of its deep portion at the critical zone with oedema and haemorrhage as well as oedema in Kager fat pad.
There is also moderate thickening with increased signal of the distal end of the Achilles tendon with probable calcification as well as bone marrow oedema consistent with enthesopathy.
The plantaris tendon remains intact.
