Fall. Right hip pain.

Patient Data

Age: 80 years
Gender: Female

Presentation

x-ray

Acute right superior and inferior pubic ramus fractures.

Additionally, there is a discontinuity in the iliopectineal line on the right suggesting an acetabular fracture.

Previous left dynamic hip screw.

Calcified uterine fibroids.

1 week later

x-ray

Repeat imaging 1 week later shows the acetabular fracture more clearly with early callus formation.

Case Discussion

The patient was managed conservatively.

This case shows the value of the iliopectineal line as a review area in the assessment of pelvic radiographs.
