Presentation

Trauma.

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Male

Acromioclavicular joint injury is seen as followed:

The clavicle is mildly elevated but not above the superior border of the acromion

Acromioclavicular ligament: ruptured

Joint capsule: ruptured

Coracoclavicular ligament: sprain

Deltoid muscle: small partial tear

Trapezius muscle: strain

Acromion type II

Mild subacromial-subdeltoid bursal effusion

Case Discussion

The patient was referred to us with a history of shoulder pain and immobility after direct shoulder trauma. Regarding the imaging findings, this is a type II acromioclavicular joint injury according to Rockwood classification
