The proximal sigmoid and lower part of descending colon show diffuse mural thickening with pericolic fat stranding. Multiple colonic diverticula are seen. No signs of perforation or abscess formation.
Other findings: sacralized L5 and L4-5 diffuse posterior disc bulge with intradiscal calcification.
Case Discussion
Features of acute uncomplicated colonic diverticulitis. It is considered stage Ia according to Hinchey classification. The patient was treated conservatively.
