Acute diverticulitis with abscess formation

bowel wall thickening with multiple diverticula outpouching involving the descending and sigmoid colon
surrounding fat stranding and small air filled collection seen around the affected colon
narrowing / collapse of distal ileum proximal small bowel obstruction likely due to adhesion
also, Severe osteoarthritis of the left hip joint and L5/S1 disc degenerative disease noted
Case Discussion
Findings above are consistent with acute diverticulitis of descending and sigmoid colon with abscess formation.
