Acute left parietal infarct

Presentation

Sudden-onset right arm focal seizure with right-sided paresthesia and expressive dysphasia.

Patient Data

Age: 45 years
Gender: Female
mri

There is a moderate-sized region of diffusion restriction involving the left middle cerebral artery territory in the left parietal lobe. No flow defects are noted in the dominant arterial structures on the time-of-flight angiogram.

Case Discussion

This case demonstrates MRI findings of acute stroke.

The left parietal infarct is hyperintense on T2 and FLAIR, and there is a high DWI signal and a low ADC signal.
