Adenoidal hypertrophy is more common in children, and it can cause symptoms such as difficulty breathing through the nose, snoring, and sleep apnea. It can also lead to recurrent ear infections, sinus infections, and difficulty swallowing.

Tonsilar hypertrophy is also common in children, and it can cause symptoms such as difficulty swallowing, sore throat, and recurrent tonsillitis.
