Patient sent for seizure disorder imaging.

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Male

Wrap-around artifact from a small field of view resulting in a nicely depicted but inverted hippocampus. Compare with normal field of view images (the second series).

Case Discussion

Wrap-round, also known as aliasing artifact, occurs when signals outside the field of view overlap on the opposite side of the image.
