Presentation
Immunocompetent patient with longstanding known chronic rhinosinusitis complains of nasal obstruction.
Patient Data
Extensive sinonasal mucosal polyps.
Bilateral complete opacification and expansion of paranasal sinuses associated with bony remodeling, and involvement of ethmoid air cells and the nasal cavity. Findings are associated with centrally hyperdense inspissated material surrounded by peripheral edematous mucosa.
Obliteration of choanae and nasopharyngeal posterior airway space.
Case Discussion
Findings in this patient with chronic sinusitis with polyposis (sinonasal polyposis) suggest concurrent allergic fungal sinusitis.
