Post-treatment changes after resection of portions of the left mandibular condyle and ramus and left submandibular gland.
Fatty atrophic changes of left masticatory muscles.
Abnormal signal (low on T1 and high on T2) enhancing solid mass lesion measuring about 18 x 27 x 36 mm located in left masticatory space with involvement of the masseter muscle fibers due to recurrence of the known tumor
Fluid signal within left mastoid air cells
Thornwaldt cyst as well-circumscribed cystic region nestled between the longus colli muscles and deep to the nasopharyngeal mucosa.
Case Discussion
Ameloblastoma is a benign and slow-growing tumor that arises from the mandible, or less commonly from the maxilla, and tends to present in the 3rd to 5th decades of life. Although benign, it is a locally aggressive neoplasm with a high rate of recurrence.
