Fusion of the spinous processes of thoracic vertebral bodies is seen giving a dagger sign appearance.

Multilevel marginal syndesmophytes are seen.

Square vertebral bodies on lateral view.

Ankylosing spondylitis is a seronegative spondyloarthropathy. It presents as an inflammatory arthritis affecting the entire spine, ultimately leading to fusion.
