Presentation

Sudden-onset central chest pain radiating to the back.

Patient Data

Age: 70 years
Gender: Female

There is a crescentic hyperattenuation within the wall of the mid- to the distal aortic arch and proximal descending thoracic aorta, corresponding to eccentric low-density mural thickening on the post-contrast acquisition tapering to the distal thoracic aorta.

No focal acute ulceration is identified.
