Presentation

Headache.

Patient Data

Age: 75 years
Gender: Female

A large left middle cranial fossa cyst with CSF density extending to Sylvian fissure and left parietal lobe convexity. Overlying remodeling of the left temporal squamous bone and lateral wall of the left orbit is noted. No midline shift.

A large left middle cranial fossa cyst with CSF signal in all pulse sequences extending to Sylvian fissure and left parietal lobe convexity. Overlying remodeling of the left temporal squamous bone is noted. It also remodels the lateral wall of the left orbit. No midline shift.

Case Discussion

Classical CT and MRI appearance of arachnoid cyst. It shows overlying skull remodeling, expanding the left squamous temporal bone resulting in sull asymmetry. It is a middle cranial fossa arachnoid cyst extending to the left parietal region, considered a Galassi type III arachnoid cyst.
