There is an intra-articular avulsion fracture of the base of the 5th metatarsal, associated with with adjacent soft tissue swelling.
Case Discussion
A transverse fracture through the base of the fifth metatarsal involving the apophysis and reaches the tarsometatarsal joint. This is in keeping with an avulsion fracture of the styloid process of the 5th metatarsal (pseudo-Jones fracture).
In Jones fracture, fracture line involves the metadiaphyseal region and reaches medially the 4th-5th metatarsal articulation.
