Presentation

Lower back pain along with work up for metastasis.

Patient Data

Age: 25 years
Gender: Female

There is an abnormal, pseudo-articulation of the mega-apophysis of the left-sided transverse process of the L5 vertebra with ipsilateral sacral bone.

The rest of the visualized bones are grossly unremarkable

Case Discussion

CT findings are of Bertolotti syndrome which refers to lower back pain in the context of lumbosacral transitional vertebrae in this particular case pseudo-joint formation of the enlarged left L5 transverse process and the sacrum.

The patient was a known case of right breast CA and CT was done for metastatic workup.
