Presentation
Under evaluation for primary infertility.
Patient Data
Two widely placed endometrial cavities with surrounding myometrium converging at the lower uterine segment. The two endometrial cavities are widely spaced with an angle of approximately 115-130 degrees. There is fundal cleft with distance between both cornua measuring approximately 3.8 cm.
Common cervical cavity is noted without evidence of a cervical septum.
Bilateral ovaries are normal.
Case Discussion
A bicornuate uterus is a class IV Mullerian duct anomaly. MRI helps to confirm the anatomy by showing a deep (>1 cm) fundal cleft in the outer uterine contour and an intercornual distance of >4 cm. The uterus demonstrates normal uterine zonal anatomy.
