Chest X-ray demonstrates bilateral vascular congestion with left pleural effusion.
Incidental findings of hypoplastic right 5th rib and bifid left 4th rib.
Case Discussion
Bifid rib is a rare congenital skeletal abnormality in which the anterior rib bifurcates. It is usually asymptomatic and can be associated with other skeletal abnormalities.
The hypoplastic rib is small in every dimension and does not articulate with the sternum.
