Bilateral, ill-defined and irregular, mixed retroareolar echogenicity suggestive of bilateral mastitis. There are no well-defined abscesses. Benign, inflammatory, reactive lymph nodes are present within the axillae. The area was markedly tender to touch and ultrasound probe pressure during scanning.
Case Discussion
An unusual case of bilateral pediatric mastitis of uncertain etiology. The patient was treated with antibiotics and analgesia and had an uneventful recovery.
