Case Discussion

The case presents an example of brachial plexus injury, in which there are left brachial plexus (C6-7 and D1-2) pseudomeningoceles resulting from their related nerve root avulsions, associated with retraction of the torn nerve fibers. Diffuse swelling and thickening of the rest (trunks, divisions, cords and nerves) of the left brachial plexus, which could be secondary to stretching injury or early Wallerian degeneration. Atrophy of the left shoulder girdle musculature (Denervation injury).
