On static images, there is absence of radiotracer within the brain. There is increased radiotracer within the nasopharynx.
Case Discussion
This is a case of a brain death as diagnosed by a Tc-99m nuclear medicine study. This case demonstrates the empty light bulb sign and the hot nose sign.
