Case Discussion

Breast hamartomas most commonly are asymptomatic or present as a painless breast lump. They may also present as unilateral breast enlargement without a palpable mass. Hamartomas represent the benign proliferation of fibrous, glandular, and fatty tissue surrounded by a thin capsule of connective tissue. They contain all components of normal breast tissue which is why there are considered hamartomatous.
