CT images showing tubular lesions suggestive of mucus impaction of a left-upper-lobe bronchus and associated air trapping, features diagnostic of bronchial atresia.
Case Discussion
On radiology, some pathologies have pathognomonic findings and bronchial atresia is one of them.
The characteristic findings of bronchial atresia on CT;
- Tubuler hyperdense lesions, suggestive of mucus impaction bronchus
- Hyperinflation of the adjacent lung parenchyme
