Presentation

Chief complaint: cough for 4 days, fever and body ache, sneezing for 3 days, throat pain.

Patient Data

Age: 45 years
Gender: Male
x-ray

Mild Bilateral broncho-vascular markings are noted

LT lower lung zonal bronchiectatic changes are noted

Normal heart size

Prominent aortic knuckle and unfolded aorta are noted

No mediastinal shift is noted.

LT C.P. angle is minimally blunted

Bronchiectasis (plural: bronchiectases) is defined as an irreversible abnormal dilatation of the bronchial tree. It has a variety of underlying causes, with a common etiology of chronic inflammation. High-resolution CT is the most accurate modality for diagnosis.
