Presentation

Asymptomatic patient. During preoperative exams for the treatment of breast cancer a lesion was identified in the base of the right hemithorax.

Patient Data

Age: 45 years
Gender: Female

Chest

ct

Scout and tomographic acquisitions in mediastinal and pulmonary windows before resection of the lesion, showing a mass in the posterior pleural base of the right hemithorax with homogeneous density and smooth wall.

x-ray

Chest radiography performed 2 months after resection of the lesion, showing complete removal of the mass and a small pleurodiaphragmatic scar at the site.

Case Discussion

Histopathological report after the resection confirmed the hypothesis of bronchogenic cyst.
