Presentation

Staging scan.

Patient Data

Age: 60 years
Gender: Female

Widespread partially calcified pleural plaques, predominantly beneath the ribs and along the diaphragm, even extending into the costophrenic recesses.

Small volume lower lobes with generalized subtly increased opacity.

Case Discussion

Incidental multifocal calcified pleural plaques in this distribution are virtually pathognomonic for prior asbestos exposure.

No thoracic metastases.
