There is a small rounded well-defined intra-axial lesion in the right medial temporal lobe. It elicits an isosignal to the cortical grey matter on T1/FLAIR and high signal on T2 with a peripheral hypointense rim and prominent blooming artifact on gradient echo sequence. No surrounding edema or enhancement on the postcontrast sequence.
Case Discussion
MRI features of a cavernoma (or cavernous hemangioma) of the medial temporal lobe.
