There is a 28 x 30 x 40 mm large lobulated avidly enhancing extra-axial mass lesion originating from the right cavernous sinus. This lesion causes encasement and moderate narrowing of the cavernous portion of the right carotid artery and proximal right MCA.

It has the following relations and extensions:

  • medially, the tumor grows into the sellar and suprasellar cisterns with involvement of the pituitary gland and displacing the pituitary stalk and posterior pituitary bright spot up and to the left

  • laterally, it abuts the medial aspect of the right temporal lobe and shows an enhancing dural tail

  • posterolateral extension with involvement of the meckle cave and almost completely filling it and makes pressure effect upon right-sided brainstem

Case Discussion

MR imaging features are suggestive of a cavernous sinus meningioma on the right side.
