Presentation

A known case of non-small cell lung cancer on follow-up.

Patient Data

Age: 80 years
Gender: Male

Evidence of sequelae of old portal vein thrombosis by cavernous transformation of the portal vein noted in the porta hepatis. Previous cholecystectomy with prominent CBD. 

Case Discussion

This patient was diagnosed with early small cell lung cancer 10 years ago with operative treatment (left upper lobectomy).

On follow-up an incidental finding of sequelae of old portal vein thrombosis by a development of a net of venous collateral in the porta hepatis consistent with cavernous transformation of portal vein.
